A number of vehicles - new and old - met at the Tim Horton's to travel to Surrey to visit two garages under partly sunny skies. After concluding that Jake's 'leak' was not fatal, we left and motored over the Golden Ears Bridge and out 200th to 80th and over to Tucker's Tin Farm. There we met up with the Lamothe's and the Ulmer's. In total there were 28 people with 11 oldies!
Earl and June, the consumate hosts, had coffee, tea and refreshments available for us to go along with the donuts provided by the Chapter. Earl told us that he is trying to downsize and that most anything was for sale .... if we just asked and had the money to pay for it! Already the railway and all the vintage pop bottles had disappeared - hopefully they went to good homes.
Earl showed us his very special vehicle - a 1941 Graham Hollywood - a special car that is totally custom having a 350 Corvette motor and power EVERYTHING! We are sure that he will have loads of fun with this one.
After a gab session and a wonderful visit, we left to go down the street to Dave Pollon's Chicken Farm. Earl, June and their daughter and son-in-law joined us.
Entering the Chicken Barn, one is not ready for what meets them .... You step into another world, one from the 50's or 60's, complete with a Soda Fountain, Main Street (with store fronts) and a garage.
Through the garage you step into a wonderful showroom filled with beautiful automobiles - new and old. What a great place.
Thank you to Earl, June and Dave for a wonderful afternoon!
